Peter Estibeiro

Founder & CEO

12 years in academic research including post-doctoral fellowships at ICRF (now CRUK) and University of Edinburgh. Alzheimer’s Disease Society research fellowship, temporary lectureship at University of Edinburgh. BBSRC and EU Framework research grants as Principal Investigator.

Over 20 years board level technical and commercial experience in biotech and early-stage medical device companies. Track record of raising public and private sector finance and leading the development of products from concept to market in highly regulated sectors. Since founding Crucible, Peter has also worked on rapid-prototyping, manufacturing and defence projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.

John Wigham

Director

John is a chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has considerable experience focussing on establishing and implementing strategies for exploiting existing and new markets.

An experienced engineer with more than 25 years in manufacturing with large multinational companies, starting and growing new companies and developing SMEs, successfully assisted entrepreneurs, university spinouts and companies take a range of products from initial concept through to manufacture and on to the market.

John has worked with a Scottish University on a major study to determine what advice and assistance is presently available to help start up companies and SMEs reduce the time to market for their products.

Melville Berwick

Director

Mel brings over 20 years of experience in board-level sales and account management, having worked with prominent global brands in the commercial sector.

An experienced Director with expertise in driving growth, strategic planning, and operational excellence. He has led the development of innovative healthcare technologies, enhancing patient care and optimising processes.

Melville has also guided early-stage companies in scaling from prototypes to market success. His diverse background, including roles in automotive and aviation, showcases his ability to lead in dynamic environments and deliver sustainable growth.
